EXCESSIVE SWEATING CAUSES
Excessive sweating causes and various treatments
Excessive sweating causes - There can be several causes of excessive sweating, but first it's important to gain an understanding of some of the basic terminology. Excessive sweating is frequently referred to by the medical community as "hyperhidrosis" which simply means an abnormal amount of sweat is produced by various systems within your body. One form of hyperhidrosis is simply known as primray or "idiopathic" hyperhidrosis for which there is no known cause. The other form is called "secondary" hyperhidrosis for which the excessive sweating causes are due to illnesses such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, obesity or some other endocrine disorder such as a pheochromocytoma (which is a very very rare tumor of the adrenal gland).
Excessive sweating causes can be cured by medications such as Ditropan (2.5 mg 2-3 x per day), drinking lots of cold water, taking cold showers to cool your body or anxiety medications such as Xanax or Diazepam or even antidepressent medications to control your anxiety.
The most effective, practical excessive sweating cause is Maxim antiperspirant which is a very powerful over the counter antiperpspirant recommended by over 1,000 dermatologists and ETS surgeons such as Dr. Reisfeld of the Beverly Hills Center for Hyperhidrosis.
